Minders 122 Mal: …….. so there you have it. I’m selling out to Belial and she’s thinking of putting Erika in charge. Tia: I see. And this Erika wants to come and see us tomorrow morning? Mal: Yes, but just you girls. Have you got somewhere safe where you can park the boys? Tia: We’ll think of something to keep them out of mischief! Erika: Good morning ladies – I’m Erika, I think Mal has told you I may be taking over as manager of the Minders enterprise. Tia: Good morning. Yes, Mal did speak to me. I’m Tia, Forest’s minder and this is Fei Yen who looks after Smokey. Fei Yen: Hello. I hope this change doesn’t mean our jobs are at risk? Erika: No, Mal spoke very highly of you both. I wanted to get an idea of just what you do for the boys. Tia: Almost anything! We start with breakfast and finish tucking them into bed. Fei Yen: And through the day we try to be there to keep them out of trouble. Tia: It’s easier when they want to do something together, then one of us can stay here and deal with all the housekeeping stuff. Fei Yen: Sometimes we can let them out alone – like today, they’ve gone to the pub together but one of us will pick them up after you’ve gone. Erika: You mean they get so drunk they need to be shown the way back? Fei Yen: Oh no, but you know these old men – mouths bigger than their bladders! Tia: And we have the app for the pop-up toilets – saves a lot of embarrassment. Erika: Ah, yes. I did see the report about Smokey in the park. Tia: Perhaps you’d like to come with us tomorrow – Forest’s taking us out for a drive? Erika: Good idea – I’d like to meet your two old men!
