Crazy Solotürk ... the Turkish solo display pilot. Saw him several times on several airshows across the Europe.
The most powerfull experience I had was from home airshow at Ostrava, where we were standing on non-official places, along or below of display line. Who wants to feel the power of jet engine, have to stay here . During one of his demonstration element he demonstrated high speed fly near a ground. When he flew above ours heads few meters high, not more like 15-20m, he still holded afterburner on full power... the loud, the acustic pressure was insane! And we loved him cos this ( not every pilot holding afterburner above the people ) - of course, this place was non-official ( I dont want to say that this places was closed for public )
And now as I can see, he is more crazy then I expected he almost crashed ...

I was reading about the F-35 fighter plane last night, ironically enough, and the helmet they use in it. The helmet allows the pilot to see through the fuselage of the aircraft to view whats normally not visible around the aircraft. The helmet is full of sensors and electronics and costs $400,000 U.S. dollars to make. It is designed to fit to each individual pilots head that flies the F-35. Which is about $1.9 Million dollars per plane. I used to be an Aircraft Electrician in the U.S. Navy but the F-35-C for Carriers came out long after I was no longer serving in the Navy. I would have liked to see or work on one up close.
