Minders 223 Smokey: And just what word is it that you want to have about fish? Penguin: You had a rod and line, so I’m assuming you were fishing? Smokey: Yes, I was fishing. I was fishing yesterday and I’ll be fishing tomorrow too. I’m on a fishing holiday. Penguin: That’s it. Holiday. I fish every day, I have to to survive. Smokey: Surely there’s enough for both of us? Penguin: Not so much these days – like I said, I have to fish to survive. Smokey: Well, I fed everyone on board with the fish I caught yesterday. Penguin: I’m glad it didn’t go to waste but you can eat lots of things and I can only eat fish and I need lots of fish to stay alive. Smokey: Hmmm. I suppose you would. You are a very large penguin. Penguin: We are an isolated group, we’ve been here many years and with inbreeding we’ve grown to this size. Smokey: An isolated group that’s changed because of inbreeding? A bit like the wildlife on the Galapagos Islands then? Penguin: And in Norfolk I believe.
