Hailing from Honolulu, Nene Iseya is a powerful figure in the Joshi Puroresu scene over in Japan. It’s not through ruthlessness or shady means that she uses underhanded backstage means to maintain her position, much to the relief of those around him. Rather, being the daughter of Japanese immigrants and splitting her childhood (usually summer vacation) straddling the two cultures, immersed in both simultaneously and possessing an intricate understanding of both. It is this knowledge that allows her to maintain her position...as the pre-eminent villainess of Japan. She is an arrogant showman who compliments her raw charisma and tremendous ability with dirty tactics who is more than happy to show off her bronzed body by wearing revealing ring gear more in line with the western professional wrestling scene than the Japanese one. When she grabs the microphone, she is an expert at riling up crowds by flaunting her (very real, very much self made) wealth and lavish lifestyle with an attitude that this makes her better than the audience. Of course, this persona is not the real Nene. She is widely regarded as a charm to work with due to a combination of humility, professionalism, and a desire to make her opponent look better at the end of their match than they did at the beginning. She may win a lot, but only because of an illegal handful of tights during the pin, a weapon shot while the referee isn’t looking, a punch to the breast, or breaking their concentration with a kiss that plays off of her real life bisexuality. Her opponents always have an out, and would have one if not for that one thing. In particular, her now legendary rivalry with Chouko “Silk” Himura, who was then a rising star saw the normally serene and pleasant Himura to snap and really lay into her to the point that most matches would end with Nene having a split lip or black eye. Nene was particularly proud of that feud due to the storytelling, great quality of matches, and the fact that, unbeknown to most, Chouko is her cousin. Recently, however, rumors have begun to flow that she is in negotiations with Nichole Wolfe to buy her company so that Nichole could start her own women’s only promotion...?
