Anyone have any idea of how to overcome the memory error that occurs with windows 10. I want to continue to use hook 4. But even with 32 gigs of ram it still occurs constantly. I've tried enlarging the virtual file size but, this had no effect. I'd appreciate any help.

I'm currently using the one that you placed the link for. Sadly even with drastically reducing the resolution, it's still a crash test dummy. I normally get around the problem by using OpenGL. But graphically it's a pretty big step backwards.

@ChastityLane I feel your pain. I have tried numerous ways to increase ram allocation for 3DSV and things that commonly work on 32 bit programs such as Large Address Aware fail i think because of sexvilla connect

i completed the 64bit version a few weeks ago and its already through internal alpha testing. we have a few issues with the launcher selecting and executing 64bit binaries under different OS. keep your fingers crossed, we try our best.

#WINDOWS10 - I just installed Windows 10 and SV2 crashes after loading sequences and playing them for a minute or two in standard non-modded rooms using Fullscreen mode with a very large resolution: 2560 × 1600. Also, this was with updated Nvidia drivers and a very small ActiveMod folder (about 500 mods)
Several of the crashes looked to be a DirectX issue from the error message displayed at crash. So, I changed to use OpenGL instead of DirectX in the options at the launcher and the game has now preformed well with zero crashes in WINDOWED mode at 2560 × 1600.
tl;dr: Try using OpenGL instead of DirectX
#windows10 - @Dirty-Six I'm curious if anybody has tried running SV2 or related games in Compatibility Mode for your previous best OS for running the game? Its simple enough to set but my last experience with WIN 7 and SV2 was very unpleasant(update) yet I'm getting a lot of stoppages when I have any other app running and keeping PShop open and in use is a near must - yes I've gotten sick trying to set preferences in PShop for smooth operation...and even if I'm not running multiple apps...heavy room textures are hit n miss...right in the middle of a pose tweak or customizing and its Oh well fuck you migz, we're outa here...see, I likes to get screens done while doing whatever else and standard textures by thrixxx run a little better, but not that much better. I feel as if my uncoordinated use of the keyboard is really causing some problems..hit a key accidentally and POW what the hell? I did not want to go here - do this. Most of the stoppages happen as I'm going to do something like click on a model part or select something in customizer...blah blah...

How much RAM do you have ? in essence, if you have a ton of RAM, it shouldn't be a problem to run other programs simultaneously, if you don't, other programs will start using memory space that sexvilla otherwise could use, which now it Can't and BAM, out of memory crash.

For what the info is worth @migz_2K13, I got W10 running in its native form a few days ago. SV2 and everything else seems to be working as well as before (one or two game crashes, but not many). I will have SV2, this site, paint, Chrome, Excel all running together. 8GB RAM probably helps!

As far as I know SV2 can use 2GB RAM max. The activemod files use the most RAM. You could try deleting a lot of those files (back up first) and see if that helps.

Yea, I have a lot of Active Mods, tried that in the past a couple of times not much help really...
...I run Crysis 2 with the High Res Texture Set on all Ultra
settings with little FPS drop.
My system should, can, and has handled multiple tasks for the past 2 yrs including PShop. Bridge, and SV2 with maybe Mahjonng or TriPeaks active as well, not to mention Firefox with GE loaded..The issues I'm seeing began when I upgraded to WIN 10...but hey what the hell I could not even get the update done. -
...in WIN 7 The refresh rate is set to max, but my monitor is good for it. That is odd that Thrixxx has that option for this old game, few games do. Oh and back before Jun 24th, my game ran fine with very few out of memory stoppages but what you might expect...this is frequent and annoying. I blame PShop CC 2015 in part, its been acting weird too since 10.

It's clear that it's a windows 10 related issue then. being that it's so new it might mea you need to wait for the kinks to be ironed out, or, it will enver be ironed out and windows 10 just sucks .... it's hard to say right now, either way, a ticket to thrixxx about it might help them fix the problem on their side, compatibility issues etc
