On Earth 5000, humanity is extinct and only vampires remain. Faced with starvation, their scientists stumbled upon the multiverse and so they send out Reapers to see which Earths they can cull to feed the home population. Rona Temp is their best agent, successfully evaluating the 3 categories of Earth at a 100% rate. The 3 categories are: No threat: CULL. These Earths pose no technological threat to the vampires so are literally farmed until no humans remain. Equivalent Level: These Earths possess the technological levels that mean they could fight back and pose a threat to the Homeworld. On these worlds, Reapers kidnap people unlikely to be missed and take them back to homeworld for feeding. Quarantine World: These Earths are superior in technology to Homeworld so the Reapers never revisit them and mark them as QWs. As for Rona, she is brave, passionate and fiercely patriotic to her race and feels no compassion for humans whom she sees as nothing more than cattle to be reared and used as food. She can no more regard herself as an evil being than can a human who steps on an ant. But in her world hopping she will encounter a human who will challenge everything she believes and make her a rogue reaper to be hunted and killed by her own people... Her story will be told soon.?
