Description
In the mid 1960s I played drums in a Burlesque house, substituting for drummer who couldnt make it for a couple of weeks. In the backstage area, among the piles of old costumes we found an old, worn out thing from the 1930s to 1940s. Mostly used in Burlesque (baggy pants) comic skits, it could be anything, put a nurses cap on her and she became the head nurse Comic: "Who are you?" Girl: "I'm the Head Nurse." Comic: "Yeah, how come your dress is gold and covered with jewels?" Her answer: "Cause I'm a Really Good HEAD.......nurse!" You get the idea, a dress for any skit.
