Venenia's real name is Jala'Atthiria and she was born centuries ago at a desert continent as a slave of a nation called Anver'siel. She was their first recorded person with blue eyes and therefore not only incredibly beautiful but also harbinger of a prophecy about a 'heaven-eyed' liberator who was meant to rescue the enslaved people. She and the pharaoh's son secretly fell in love and almost a new age would have begun. But they got discovered and captured and while she was burned, her lover intentionally plunged into death. After her death, evil gods gave her an hourglass to turn back time with blood but it wasn't enough to undo her lovers death. Meanwhile, after centuries, she rose and became the godlike pharaoh but due to her loss she also became evil. She enslaved half a world to build a monumental hourglass, to sacrifice her slaves and finally to travel back in time to her love. Although she looks very frightening, she's not completely evil and crazy since her evil doings are ultimately based on loss, love and grief. She hides her demonic body from human eyes with a spell based on bathing in blood so ordinary people still see her former beauty why she's also a worshiped leader. In principle she isn't interested in pain of others for 'fun' but only a cold, calculating and determined being to reach her goal. As long as she gets what she wants she's even pretty hospitable and generous while she still doesn't shy back of using all means to decimate and crush everything and everyone standing between her and her objective. So while she might give you your weight in gold and gems if you obey her, better don't piss her off.. with a little bit of luck you might be burned instead of getting an invitation for a 'romantic' bath.
