After her dad's funeral, well in a way her adopted dad because Kayla has never met her biological father, Kayla wanted to be alone for a little while so she went down to just sit on the beach. From what I'm told by Katie Kayla's dad use to take her to the beach when she was younger whenever he had any free time which was usually not a lot.
